Born in 1976 in Sopot, Bulgaria Ahmet Çerkez graduated from Painting Department in Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty. He lives and works in Istanbul.

In his works, Çerkez focuses on the vast space occupied by human beings, and the pain and tragedy caused by humans despite their relatively short existence over time. The artist points out the traces left by people in time and space with minimal intervention on the surface, which he works with a poetic fiction. The artist mostly uses acrylic paint and pencil, flower petals and rust spots as materials. Using a unique technique to transfer collages that create images of nature mort on fabric, the artist transforms the traces of the process. He reveals the traces of time through the life-death dilemma, sometimes with the contribution of geometry, sometimes with the transfer of photographs and the addition of ready-made objects in his abstract compositions.
