Born in London in 1993, Renin Bilginer currently lives and works in London. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Painting at the University of Brighton in 2019, followed by her Master's degree at the Royal College of Art in 2023. Renin's practice is grounded in her experiences as a woman with both British and Turkish heritage, expressed through textiles, painting, and installations. Her myth-making activities position her work within an imaginary ancient world populated by feminine beings, presented as an archive. Drawing from her interdisciplinary research into local pagan belief systems, folklore, and cultures of goddess worship, as well as visual depictions of 18th-century pleasure gardens, her work engages with themes of femininity, discord, and the embrace of multiple identities.
