Eda Soylu (b. 1990, Istanbul) graduated from Üsküdar American High School, spending one year of her education in Michigan as part of an exchange program. She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD'13) and was selected to participate in the European Honors Program in 2012, spending six months in Rome.
Her first solo exhibition, “Unutulmuyor, ne tuhaf!” (Not Forgotten, How Strange!), took place in 2014 with Berlin Art Projects in Istanbul. In 2015, she began her first street installations in Balat while simultaneously participating in group exhibitions in Berlin. Her second solo exhibition, “Evi Yeniden Kurmak” (Rebuilding the House Anew), was held at Galeri Khas within Kadir Has University in 2016, the same year she participated in the group exhibition “Sanat Rastlantısı / Rastlantının Sanatı” (The Incident of Art / The Art of Incident) at Akbank Sanat. Her third solo exhibition, “Anneannemin Evinden Kalanlar” (Remnants from My Grandmother’s House), took place at Mixer in 2018. In 2019, she presented her fourth solo exhibition, “Yaralı Anlar” (Injured Moments), at Barın Han as part of the Atonal 9 Solo exhibition series. In 2021, she opened her fifth solo exhibition, “Yetişkinler İçin Oyun Blokları” (Color Blocks for Adults), at Ferda Art Platform.
Since 2020, Soylu has been focusing on expression through painting and continues her artistic production and life in Istanbul.
