Artshow 2026: Işıl Kapu
Galeri Bosfor participated in Artshow 2026 from February 12–15, 2026 with a solo presentation by Işıl Kapu.
At the core of Işıl Kapu’s artistic practice, we encounter the anatomy of a trace. Drawing on prehistoric figurines and elements inherited from history, the artist reveals layers of meaning that reach into the present. While reconstructing these components through contemporary materials and production methods, she focuses not only on what the object represents, but also on the context in which it is produced and the relationships it enters into through circulation. These works make visible the traces, ruptures, and transformations of cultural knowledge within the continuity between past and present; they move the object beyond being a closed symbol and transform it into an open field of reflection on identity, memory, and belonging.
