Nada New York 2025
For NADA New York 2025, Bosfor presented a solo booth by Barış Göktürk. Fresh from completing the NXTHVN Fellowship program, Göktürk introduced his series Dancers, which began during the pandemic, when he photographed people dancing at the "block parties" of New York neighborhoods. In these works, dance emerges as both a form of protest and a mode of existence within a constained society. Layers of paint oscillate between collective and political memory, evoking tension and resilience.
The presentation also included a second body of work inspired by Pompeii wall paintings, a reference Göktürk has been exloring in his smaller-scale works. Here, the notions of erasure, fragmentation, and visual endurance come together, suggesting the persistence of memory despite decay.
