Bosfor is opening the art season in its new venue in Karaköy with the group exhibition “The Wind”, focusing on one of the most hidden and evocative forces of nature. Bringing together works from various disciplines, the exhibition approaches wind as a natural phenomenon, a symbol, and a presence that touches every aspect of human and ecological life.
The exhibition “The Wind” is built upon a vital force for life. Both nourishing and destructive, this power becomes visible through the impact it leaves behind. This natural phenomenon holds constructive and destructive effects, ranging from a gentle breeze that cools our skin and carries the scent of spring, to storms that can raze entire cities. For centuries, the wind has guided ships, provided clean energy, shaped nature, created magnificent landscapes, spread life by carrying seeds, stirred the oceans, and awakened the soul, while also standing as a symbol of freedom and change.
The participating artists interpret this powerful effect, which leaves its mark on everything it passes through, by means of sculpture, painting, video, installation, photography, and text. Some focus on the wind’s interaction with the body, landscape, or structures—its traces, movement, dynamics, and role in environmental cycles—while others turn to the philosophical associations where the wind symbolizes the divine breath.
